2017-2018 Goals

District Goals

  • In 2017-18, more than 82.49% of our 8th grade students will be proficient in Reading.
  • In 2017-18, more than 83.49% of our 6th grade students will be proficient in Mathematics
  • In 2017-18, more than 85.34% of our 7th grade students will be proficient in Science.

District Goals Cont.

  • In 2017-18, Ames Community Schools will increase the proficiency of students self-identified as Black or African American in: 1. Reading as measured on the Iowa Assessments (more than 62.62%). 2. Mathematics as measured on the Iowa Assessments (more than 57.75%). 3. Science as measured on the Iowa Assessments (more than 57.01%).

Reading

  • In order to meet the district goal of more than 82.49% of our 8th grade students being proficient in Reading, AMS students will become better consumers of information through identifying key ideas and use of vocabulary.

Math

  • In order to meet the district goal of more than 83.49% of our 6th grade students being proficient in Mathematics, AMS students will become better consumers of information through identifying key ideas and use of vocabulary.

Science

  • In order to meet the district goal of more than 85.34% of our 7th grade students will be proficient in Science, AMS students will become better consumers of information through identifying key ideas and use of vocabulary.
