PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Beloved

by His Father
I guess you could say that this story has three fathers: Jacob father of Joseph 1, Joseph 2 the father of Jesus, and God the father of Jesus. Each father loves his son tremendously. Joseph was loved so much that he was given a coat of many colors. I'm sure you remember that story.

Sent

by the Father
Joseph and Jesus were sent out by their fathers to do their will.
In Genesis 37, Joseph was sent to the field (in Shechem, I'm sorry I had to say that) to look for his brothers and send word back. In John 3:16, Jesus was sent to the world by God the Father to save the world.

Went

Willingly
Both Jesus and Joseph 1 went willingly. Joseph left his father decked out in his coat of many colors to find his brothers. Jesus left his Father in Heaven and came to world as a little baby. In both cases I'm sure it would have been great to just stay home.

Dreamer

Foretold that He would Rule
Joseph 1 was a dreamer.
“Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.”
Jesus also foretold that he would rule:

Dreamer?

Foretold that He would rule.
Matthew 25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.'
