PRESENTATION OUTLINE
‘If there was a little more silence, if we all kept quiet….maybe we could understand something.’
by Frederico Fellini
THE PROCESS..
- 'I am getting used to how as a company you can develop ideas.'
- 'The new ideas we have are really exciting!'
- 'I trust others and feel we can work together as a team.'
'I overcame the fear of putting all my trust in another person. I was able to try new things just depending on other company members. I have learnt how an image can be analysed and how once you have an idea from it, you can develop this and gain a deeper insight into what you think the picture could be representing.'
'We really had to come together and work as a team to ensure our final performance was as strong as possible. The process was really successful and I enjoyed learning
all the new things that I did and getting to know company members well.
I feel more confident in myself and I'm not afraid to try new things.'
'I am looking forward to exploring more scenes, ideas and inspiration!'
'Why did Gogol write such a bizarre piece?!'
'All our furniture has a personality!'
'We tell the story through facial expressions and gesture!'
'This light hearted, comical and creative piece of theatre is something out of the ordinary and hugely larger than life.'
'It was successful and we created it from 2 trucks, a sheet and a few handkerchiefs!'
'We worked professionally to produce work we are proud of.'
JOURNEY INTO STALINGRAD
'We need to flood everything with our imagination!'
'Trust the work so far, and be in that moment.'
'It's your character telling the story.'
'Connect to the words.'
The Set....
'When we walked in, the band were playing, and some lighting states were set. I was amazed and totally taken aback by it all. I knew the set was going to be big, but it was just beyond my expectations! I love how there are all the different sections for all the different groups of characters and it clearly shows that there are so many different people experiencing the situation in Stalingrad from many different perspectives.'
'A privilege to be involved and a part of such an amazing and epic piece. Stalingrad now seems to be much more than a name, much more than an event in history and much more than a piece of theatre. To me it represents the devastation and lives that were lost and the respect we have to show for these people. An opportunity for story telling.'
'I’m looking forwards to learning more about Ubu in the next week, and developing my knowledge and skills I found it quite challenging trying to interpret the characters, but I feel that the more I learn about them the better I will become at this.'
‘As we evolve as actors and performers you add more strings to your bow and this means the more versatile you become as an actor.'
'There is no performance that should be small.'
(In Ubu we are playing with exaggerated characters much larger than life!)
'Ubu has been such a fun process.'
'As a company we have come together and it was a great finale to our first year together at the Miskin.'
'I will never forget putting out Ubu and it has changed me as an actor for the better.'
'Ubu managed to excite, thrill, engage, confuse and entertain audiences with its absurd nature and wacky characters coming to life before their eyes!'
First script read - 'It seemed crazy seeing everything take shape again! Memory's kept coming to me and I saw everyone on set in their costumes! I could almost smell the soup that we ate and hear the music that plays underneath certain scenes.'
'I feel like we are stronger as a company and we are beginning to not only
worry about our own journey but also clocking the individual story's happening around us.'
'I can see why bringing the T.I.E back is such an important thing to do. Looking back on the show we put out in March and the one we have just finished it almost feels like two differ t shows.'
'The piece feels so personal and special.'
'My hope is that the audience took a piece of this passion away with them.'
Steam Punk Santa and the Spark Catchers!
'I am learning more everyday about what we need to put into our performances and am really enjoying the new challenge and adventure of it all!'
Workshop - 'I really enjoyed having the freedom to go with the flow and be in my own world. I hardly noticed anyone else around me, I just saw what what happening before me such as a big ship or a fire starting to burn! It's amazing the power of your mind and how much this can affect you.'
'I feel more inspired than ever to learn more and continue to develop as an actor. Steam Punk has been a truly amazing piece to be a part of. It will be one of those pieces you know helped you turn a corner not only as an actor but as an individual too.'
'My training at the Miskin has been exciting, challenging and so much fun! It has taken me on an incredible journey and given me a new vision and confidence that I never knew I had.'
