Different Sharks

• 440 different types of sharks
• Great White
• Carcharodon Megalodon
• Mako
• Blue Shark

Great White

• Adult weighs 4500 lbs
• Swims slower than a car
• Shorter than a school bus
• Babies are 5 feet at birth

Megalodon

• Megalodon is 10 times the size of a Great White
• It ate sharks; It could eat a whale in one bite
• Some people think it is still alive today
• I have a tooth from it

Mako

• Fastest shark in the world
• Considered vunerable
• Also called Blue Pointer and Bonito

Blue Shark

• Most distributed shark in the world
• Lives in the coasts, except Antarctica
• Eats squid, tuna, crabs, and others
• Surrounds its prey before it attacks

Baby Sharks

• Great White babies swim away from their mom because she will eat them
• Not all sharks give live birth
• Some that do are: Great White, Blue, Mako, Hammerheads
• Also known as pups

Pets

• Not all shark pets are small
• Some are really cat fish - they have whiskers
• Most expensive and challenging aquarium fish
• Smallest true shark needs 100 gallon tank
