General information on water pollution

Water pollution is the contamination of bodies of water, usually caused by chemicals or gas

Water pollution occurs when pollutants are discharged directly or indirectly into a body of water

• Nutrients pollution
• Surface water pollution
• Oxygen depletion
• Ground water
• Microbiological
• Suspended matter
• Chemical pollution
• Oil spillage

How it effected people and water

• It killed 11 people and traces of the gasses are still found in the gulf today

• Humans throw trash, and other wastes into bodies of water or their sinks
• Humans could go pick up trash and filter what they throw down the drain
• Humans can prevent this by not throwing trash into the water and filtering what they throw down the drain
