Long ago in Greece, there was a very beautiful priestess named Medusa. Medusa was a Gordon, cursed by Athena, but before that she was beautiful. As a mortal she would look in her mirror and admire herself all day.

Every day she would boast her beauty to anyone that would tolerate it. On Sunday, she would tell the Miller that her skin was more fresh than white snow. On Monday she boasted to the cobbler that her hair is more golden than the sun.

On Tuesday, she said to the blacksmith's son, that her eyes were greener then the Aegean Sea. And on Wednesday, she bragged to the public, that lips were redder then the reddest rose. Medusa would do this all day look at herself in a mirror, admiring herself she thought she was the prettiest girl in the world.

Then one day, her friends and her went to the temple of Parthenon, the place where people worshiped the goddess Athena. As they were in there, medusa looked at all Athena's statues and commented that she was prettier then them. Medusa reached a statue of Athena and said " All this is pretty, but it would be much prettier if I was the statue. Maybe one day people will make me a temple."

With those words, everyone whispered and quickly left the temple. Medusa however, stayed and was admiring her self in a bronze door. Then in a flash, Athena appeared angry at medusa, " foolish child!" She said to medusa. Athena was furious at medusa for thinking she was beautifuler than her and for medusa selfish beauty. Medusa tried object her selfishness, but Athena knows the truth.

Athen punished medusa, as a result, she turned medusa's gorgeous looks into a hideous monster. Snakes were her hair, a slithering snake as a body, and face of horror that any one who gazes upon her be turned to stone. Athena gave a great punishment to medusa, confused and scared, Medusa fled to Africa and young snakes on her head fell to off, that's how Africa gets so many snakes( not really, I'm just making this up) Medusa fled to a cave and stayed there. Medusa lived like this for a long time until a hero cut her head off. And that is the story of Medusa the Gordon.
