BACKGROUND

  • Born on July 30, 1863 near Dearborn, Michigan
  • He attended local schools as a young kid
  • As he grew older he went to school in Detroit to be trained as a mechanist
  • While attending school, he helped his parents on the farm

ADVANCEMENTS

  • He developed his idea for a horseless carriage
  • Soon after he presented his ideas to Thomas Edison
  • 1903-Established the Ford Motor Company. First car was the Model T Ford
  • It was innovative because nothing like the Model T Ford was even invented at the time
  • 1914-He developed the assembly line
  • One of the biggest advancements because the cars were created much faster, and by the bigger number.

FORD IS INNOVATIVE

  • Ford became renowned for his revolutionary vision:manufacturing an inexpensive automobile made by skilled workers
  • Other factories soon adopted Ford's ideas
  • By 1916, more than 3.5 million cars were traveling around on America's roads
