You are expected to enter Room 2 peacefully and ready to learn. That means you have your supplies, voices are lowered, hoods off, and food disposed.

Ambiance Managers

  • Make sure the classroom is a pleasant and clean place to be--Lower/Raise Blinds, clean up the sink area, dust, and water our tree

Distributors

  • Pass out materials (paper, supplies) on an as needed basis.

Collectors

  • Collect materials (paper, supplies) on an as needed basis. Make sure all the papers have names and are facing the same direction.
  • Collects Breakfast (a.m. core)

Composters

  • Take the compost to the dining commons as needed.

Recyclers

  • Take out the recycle bins on a weekly basis.

Librarians

  • Organize library books (makes sure they are in the correct genres & alphabetized by the last name of the author).

Messengers

  • Returns the breakfast bin (a.m. core).
  • Run errands

Substitutes

  • Fill in for anyone who is absent

Minions (P.A.)

  • Remind students of their jobs at the start of class
  • Take down chairs

Tech Team

  • Help distribute and collect Chromebooks on an as needed basis
  • Assist substitute teachers with any technology issues

Things To Consider

  • Everyone will contribute to the community but not at the same time
  • Jobs will change bi-weekly

Homework

Expectations

  • Homework will be rare! But, when assigned, it is due at the start of class and needs to include your first and last name, period, and the date.
  • Homework should be done neatly, in black or blue ink or pencil, and to the best of your ability.
  • Students will read every day for 30 min.

You can even schedule time with me online ahead of time.

  • Standards Based Proficiency grade (SBP) in English and History

Habits of Work Grade

  • Good work habits are the building blocks for success in school and life.
  • In our class, HOW grades are based on preparedness, effort, and engagement in class.

HOW Scores:

  • 4 = Extra effort/thought
  • 3 = Sincere effort/thought
  • 2 = Inconsistent/Incomplete
  • 1 = Unsatisfactory

Standards Based Proficiency Grades

  • Are based on a student’s ability to show, in a variety of ways, what you know and what you've learned.
  • Tests, quizzes, essays and projects are examples of ways you can show your knowledge of 6th grade subject matter -- the things we learn in class.
