Where Egyptians live

  • Most Egyptians live in the Nile delta
  • And along the Nile valley
  • The rest of the country remains barren
  • If the Nile rises or lowers it is a big threat
  • To the Egyptian economy

Sea level rising

  • (UNFCCC) in 1999 estimated that sea level rise would force the migration
  • Of 2 million people currently living in Nile delta
  • Climate change will harm Egypt’s tourism sector
  • through sea level rises and ocean acidification.

Nile level

  • Climate change also threatens to upend the precarious balance of water
  • allocation between Egypt and the other states bordering the Nile.
  • Rising temperature in Egypt is causing the Nile to evaporate

Green house gases

  • Because most of Egypt is a barren desert Egyptians
  • Are 93% dependent on fossil fuels
  • That is the main source of green house gases in Egypt
