What the location of the The Andes mountain??? It is located on the western edge of South America, from Venezuela all the way to chile.

Andes climate and vegetation

The Andes mountain temperatures average about 80º F. (27º C.) the year long. In contrast, the cold, wet, almost uninhabitable areas of the extreme south have average temperatures a little over 40º F. (4º C.).

The vegetation is In the tropical areas, climate and vegetation depend chiefly on elevation.

Interesting facts about the Andes mountain

1. The Andes Mountain can be divided into three parts, theres the Southern Andes, the central Andes, and the Northern Andes.


2. The mountain range is believed to have resulted from plate tectonics processes, caused by the subduction of the Nazca plate beneath the South American plate.

Interesting fact about the Andes mountains

3.The Andes are far older than the Alps, the Rockies, or the Himalayas. They're the oldest high mountains in the world, though they are newer than the Appalachian mountains or the Ural mountains.

4. The name ANDES is believed to have come from ANTI, the Quechuan word for copper.

Where is it located you might ask??? It's location is in the northwest of South America it takes up almost half of South America.

What are some countries included???

These countries are included in the Amazon rainforest Venezuela, Colombia, French Guiana, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, and Suriname.

The climate and vegetation

The Amazon rainforest climate is hot and wet. Although the average temperature remains a fairly constant 80* degrease F. High humidity makes it seem hotter.

1. 10% of the world’s known species live in the Amazon rainforest.

2. There are also a number of dangerous species living in the Amazon rainforest such as the cougar, jaguar and anaconda.

3. In both 2005 and 2010 the Amazon rainforest suffered severe droughts that killed off large amounts of vegetation in the worst affected areas.

4. According to scientists, the Amazon Jungle was created millions of years ago when the Amazon River changed direction from west to east. It most likely formed during the Eocena period following a drop in tropical temperatures.

Beginning in the high Andes Mountains in Peru, the Amazon and its tributaries flow some 4,000 miles (6,400 kilometers) to the Atlantic through Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, and Brazil; by far the largest portion is in Brazil

Climate and vegetation

The climate of Amazon is warm, rainy, and humid. The lengths of day and night are equal on the Equator (which runs only slightly north of the river), and the usually clear nights favour relatively rapid radiation of the heat received from the sun during the 12-hour day. There is a greater difference between daytime and midnight temperatures than between the warmest and coolest months

1. There are over 3000 known species of fish that live in the Amazon River, with more constantly being discovered.
