  • In classical geometry, the radius of a circle or sphere is the length of a line segment from its center to its perimeter.
  • The typical abbreviation and mathematic variable name for "radius" is r. By extension, the diameter d is defined as twice the radius

Diameter

  • In geometry, a diameter of a circle is any straight line segment that passes through the center of the circle and whose endpoints lie on the circle.
  • In more modern usage, the length of a diameter is also called the diameter. In this sense one speaks of the diameter rather than a diameter (which refers to the line itself), because all diameters of a circle or sphere have the same length, this being twice the radius r.

Length

Leght

  • in geometric measurements, length is the most extended dimension of an object. In the International System of Quantities, length is any quantity with dimension distance. In other contexts length" is the measured dimension of an object. For example, it is possible to cut a length of a wire which is shorter than wire thickness.

Perimeter

  • A perimeter is a path that surrounds a two-dimensional shape. The word comes from the Greek peri (around) and meter (measure). The term may be used either for the path or its length - it can be thought of as the length of the outline of a shape. The perimeter of a circle or ellipse is called its circumference.
