CIVIL RIGHTS

BY: NICK LOWEN AND ANDREW HINKLE

Violence
Violence was a major factor to why there was so much hatred between the two races. Many African Americans thought that starting riots and violence would lead to equality but it only made things worse. White's also brutally punished and hurt black's when they though they were in the wrong doing

Propaganda
Throughout the Civil Rights movement there were many anti-black or pro-KKK posters made to convince the public that black people were inferior or dangerous to whites. When people believed this propaganda to be true it made it extremely difficult to achieve equality. Also the KKK used propaganda to recruit members to their racist, terrorists like organization.

Segregation
During this time period whites and blacks were separated in almost every aspect, their bathrooms, their buses, even their neighborhoods. More than often the facility's for black people were in worse shape or maybe didn't work at all. This caused disputes and riots that shaped the civil rights movement.
