PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Emily Carr was born in Victoria, B.C. in 1871, the year British Columbia became a Canadian province.
Emily was the second youngest of 9 children. They grew up in Victoria, and Emily’s parents encouraged her artistic activities.
As Emily grew up, she spent more and more time painting and learning from other artists.
As you look at some paintings from later in Emily’s life, think about what they tell you about her. Where did she like to be? What was her favorite Colour? What were her favorite things?
Let’s paint like Emily Carr and celebrate the beautiful forests of British Columbia!
