  • Played important role in fundraising and giving speeches durning the Obama campaigns

  • Upholding The affordable care act
  • Protecting the environment with new legislation like the clean air and water act
  • Try and bring an end to police brutality and discrimination of minorities in the criminal justice system
  • Protecting the rights of the lgbt community

  • Protecting the rights of Muslims and other minorities

PUBLIC OPINION POLLS

  • Immigration- 53% of Americans agree that children of illegal Immigrants should be granted citizenship while 47% do not
  • Climate change- 62% agree that the Govt. Should increase environmental regulations while 38% disagree
  • Obamacare-44% of Americans support obamacare while 56% do not with 2% saying the govt. Should not be involved in healthcare
  • Gun laws- 49% support tougher gun buying laws while 51% are against
  • New energy- 70% agree with giving tax credits and subsidies to wind power industries while 30% do not
  • LGBT rights- 80% of Americans agree that gay couples should have the same adoption rights as straight couples while 20% do not
  • Criminal justice system- 43% of Americans believe blacks and other minorities receive equal treatment while 54% do not
  • Affirmative action- 67% disagree with using race as factor in college admissions while 28% agree with it

MEDIA STRATEGY

  • Definitely utilize TV and radio
  • Focus more on Internet and the ever increasing social media platforms
  • Run ads on YouTube,Twitter,Facebook, etc...
  • Encourage voters through social media posts

VOTER MOBILIZATION

  • Michelle Obama will definitely appeal to a large amount of voters. She is very moderate, and many of the views she has in important political issues today, represent a large majority of the opinion. She will also be popular with the younger population, as many will remember her as the former First Lady, and how influential she was. The plan for mobilizing voters will definitely include the usual campaign speeches and meet and greets, but also a lot of social media interaction in order to mobilize the younger population

DEMOCRATIC PLATFORM

  • Michelle will follow the party's platform in most issues
  • Guns- the party platform aims to close loopholes in current legislation and remove assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines
  • LGBT rights- much like Obama, the party aims to provide the lgbt community with the ability to live with dignity, security, and respect regardless of sexual orientation
  • Immigration- much like our candidate the democrats aim to fix our broken immigration system

CAMPAIGN FUNDING

  • PAC's- include PAC's like the American federation of teachers who donated more than 1.8 million in 2016 and the laborers Union who donated more than 1.2 million to the democrats respectively
  • Super PAC's- would most definitely include priorities use action which had independent expenditures of 133 million and a total of 192 million raised;could include others like women vote! Which supports women and holds a liberal viewpoint, as well as the leading Illinois for tomorrow super pac which strongly opposes trump
  • Individual donors- we will place a big emphasis in trying to get individual donors to donate through social media and use the Internet to its full Capacity
