DILIVERY DRONES MAY FINALLY BECOME A REALITY IN THE US SKIES

WHAT’S HAPPENING

• Delivery drones are dropping packages on people’s front steps.
• These drones get a package from a warehouse, someone hocks the package on a tether, the drone flys to the house and lowers the package on to there front steps.
• There are multiple drone companies.

Pros and cons:
These drones are much more environmentally friendly than trucks and they deliver faster than trucks. But these drones also take away about 1.5 million jobs.

This is taking place in Christiansburg, Virginia. By 2028 NASA wants at least 1 city to have full drone delivery.

THIS IS NEWSWORTHY BECAUSE...

• This might be a way to slow down global warming
• These drones are a way to deliver mail faster. One of the drones called the Wing can fly up to 75 mph.
• This is also newsworthy because these drones also make old jobs not needed any more (such as delivery people), but it also makes new jobs like building drones.

I chose to write about this because I have always been interested in robotics. Also I really want to stop global warming and this is a good way to help.
