INTRODUCTION:

  • Poverty is one of the greatest obstacles facing many Africans today. Poverty is defined as living on $1.25 or less a day.

  • Economics
  • Open up opportunities for children

HEALTH

  • Health issues in Africa include things such as diseases, life expectancy, and lack of medicine.
  • For many people if they get sick they can't afford treatment for these illnesses.

EDUCATION

  • Many people in poverty are unable to attend school from an early age.
  • Obtaining a basic education is important it could bring 171 million people out of poverty (Cleveland).

ECONOMICS

  • Mainly, the number of people living in poverty influences employment rates heavily.
  • Unemployment prevents a country from developing into a strong economic system.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN

  • Poor children have no other opportunities so they are being forced into the armed forces.
  • An estimated 12,000 children are participating in the armed forces in Africa (Wright).

ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION

  • Nutrition is an important factor for fighting poverty
  • People who are malnourished have a higher risk of physical and mental disabilities

BEST SOLUTION

  • Creating jobs is the best solution to reducing poverty.
  • Creating jobs will open up more opportunities and eventually get people out of poverty.

CONCLUSION

  • Poverty is a major issue facing Africa's Society.
  • This problem needs to be addressed quickly so the problem can be solved.
