  • He was a polar explorer
  • He didn't really like school
  • He was born in 1874
  • He was a certified master mariner
  • He died on January 5, 1922

WHAT DID MY EXPLORER DO?

  • He led British expeditions
  • He went on expeditions to the Antarctic .
  • He made a new goal of passing through Antarctica to the South Pole but he didn't make it.
  • He became stranded in Antarctica but survived
  • He died on his last attempt to reach South Pole from a heart attack

WHERE DID MY EXPLORER DO HIS EXPLORATIONS?

  • He made an attempt to go from England to Antarctica.
  • Did all of his explorations in the polar region of the South Pole and in Antarctica
  • He made four attempts to go to the Antarctic but he couldn't make it

WHEN DID MY EXPLORER GO EXPLORING?

  • He explored from 1901-1903 1907-1909, 1914-1917 and 1922
  • In August 1914 he set out on his ship called "The Endurance"

WHY DID MY EXPLORER GO EXPLORING?

  • Because he wanted to be the first person to reach the South Pole
  • He had been waiting his whole life to be an explorer.

HOW DID MY EXPLORER EXPLORE?

  • He went to Antarctica by ship
  • His ships were named the Discovery, the Nimrod, the Endurance and the Quest
  • He had a crew
  • He needed warm clothes, food, water and navigation devices such as a compass and telescope

HOW WILL MY EXPLORER BE REMEMBERED?

  • He explored Antarctica
  • The world had a good leader to look up to because he created a team sprit and was very optimistic
  • His life is an inspiration because of success and bravery
