PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Final Government Project

Mary Nyberg

Dear Juniors,
Please pick classes that you think you can handle AND want to take. Try to have a way out if they get too hard. Know this: Colleges prefer good grades in normal classes over Cs in AP or Honors classes. Alison , college applications will seem like an extra fall class, set aside time accordingly.

ECONOMICS/GOVERNEMENT

  • Fallacies: Look at everything from all perspectives involved.
  • What's best and what seems "nicest" are often not the exact same thing.

I would try to change how the government views the wage gap. As I have only really seen one side of this issue, I cannot be the one to say my way is right, but I would like to try and fight for equal pay on the basis of facts. If the opposing sides reasons only hold up because of opinions then I will continue to fight for my side. However, if I am met with several concrete, valid facts that refute my points, I must accept defeat. Not because I longer believe in my side, but facts are very important to make any potential new laws.

Goals/Changes
1. Start a Bible Reading Plan and stick with it for the summer and through college. I try to know what God's wants for me, but I struggle to find the time to listen to his thoughts and want to change this now and for the future.
2. Find methods of communication that work for me and my friends and practice putting them to use before I go to college and stay in touch. I am an only child and while I love talking to people, making friends takes a while so I often feel lonely. I want to try and care for my emotional health instead of pretending I'm always fine.

My biggest fear is that I'm choosing the wrong major and I'm going to find that it is too hard to succeed. I have only one sort of back up plan and it's very different.

Pursuing college with no fear would look like putting all my faith in God that this path is right and if it's not, He will help me take the necessary steps to find the right one.
