Description of Career
Police Officers work with the community to maintain law and order. They protect members of public and the things they own. They prevent crime and reduce fear of crime for the public.
Main Duties
1. Respond to police calls
2. Arrest and process criminal
3. Testify in court
4. Conduct interview
5. Operate law enforcement vehicle day of night
Educational Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or a GED
- Must pass the training academy
- Some department require a college degree
- Must also know a foreign language
Salary & Work Places
Salary: $27,000
Place of work: Police Department or on road
Transferable Skills
1. K-9 Officer is important so you know how to handle the dog.
2. Criminal Investigator is important to know different steps to take to solve a crime.
3. Tactical Officer is important so you know how to take on a shoot out or something like that.
Lifestyle
Policeman work 8 hours a day.
A house car and motorcycle and being able to provide for the family I plan to have.
