WHAT IS MONUMENTAL ARCHITECTURE?

  • monumental architecture is large man made structures of stone on earth.
  • Man made structures such as the stonehenge,giza pyramids,hagia sophia.

ROMAN COLOSSEUM

  • The romans used the colosseum for gladiators to fight .
  • Gladiators didn't just fight each others but also animals such as lions and other fierce animals
  • The colosseum was like a huge stadium in the roman empire.

THE TEMPLO MAYOR

  • This temple was for human sacrifes and other things.
  • The temple was completed by 1497.
  • The height of the temple was 60m/197ft!
  • Built of stone and covered with stucco and polychrome paint.
  • Also the sacred area of the city called tenochtitlan.

  • The other was talking about gladiators fighting each other ..

  • because a lot happened and it is still up today.
  • anything to do with the Romans will involve the colosseum.
