King Phillip II

  • - was King of Spain and Portugal. - Ordered the unsuccessful invasion of England with the Spanish Armada. - Married to Queen Mary I and became King of England and Ireland but only for a short time. - He is ultimately be responsible for the cultural flourishing of excellence in Span, also known as the Golden Age, and created a lasting legacy in music, visual arts and literature. - His method of government is that all work must be done on paper.

  • - A Spanish Conquistadors - He conquered the Aztec Empire of Central America. - A ruthless captain, burned boats to make his men surely follow him - Used tactics to divide the rival Indian nations of Mesoamerica

King Charles I

  • -He was the King of England, Ireland, and Scotland. -Charles favoured a High Anglican form of worship, and his wife was Catholic - both made many of his subjects suspicious. -In 1629, he dismissed parliament and resolved to rule alone. -In 1646, Charles surrendered to the Scots, who handed him over to parliament. -His conflicts with parliament led to civil war and his eventual execution.
