The Yangtze River overflowed and destroyed crops and houses.
This was one of the most devastating disasters of the 20th century.

The Yangtze River floods occurred on August 18, 1931. (That is when it started.)

The Yangtze floods took place in China and the River that flooded was the Yangtze River.

This tragic event happened because the sediment the River was carrying built up a dam and then the rain flooded the river.

Anyone or anything within 500 miles of the Yangtze River was effected. Scientist estimate that 3.7 million people died overall.

Most people tried to help others and their family. Also, they lost their homes and people died from starvation.

The Yangtze Flood of 1931 could have been avoided if the government would've cleaned it properly.

It would've been terrible to go through all the panic and chaos that the victims of the Yangtze river floods did.
