Compliance often is associated with awful, ineffective PD.

The biggest change?
Educators moving from a culture of compliance PD to seeking out PD on their own.

1) Make a game plan.

  • Achievable
  • Measurable
  • Attainable

2) Embrace the 'F' word.

  • Twitter, Voxer, Blogs, Pinterest, _________
  • EdCamps, Appy Hours, YOUR FRIENDS!
  • Procure, acquire, beg, & borrow - but you better not spend a cent.

3) Self-Advocate.

  • You know what YOU need.
  • You are aware of your strengths and pitfalls better than your boss.
  • Be realistic and practical.

While I wish we were all treated like this...

With taking over our own PD, we all end up feeling like this.
