• The fight began because the Mexicans arrested Stephen F. Austin.
• They were not being fair by not following the laws they created.
• Mexico wanted Gonzales cannon.
• General Coshad surrendered earlier and Santa Anna wanted "revenge.

• October 1835 the texans battle Mexicans at gonzales .
• March 2, 1836 texans declare independence.
• March 6, 1836 texans loses the battle of the Alamo.

OUTCOME

• The Texains lost the battle of the Alamo.
• Every Texain soldier died at the battle of the Alamo.
• For each Texian that died 8 Mexicans died.
• Though Mexico won the battle both sides paid a tragic price.
• Mexico soldiers brought Susanna Dickinson to Mexico.

Legacy
The reason the battle of the Alamo is important is if the battle of the Alamo never happened we would not have won our independence later.
