• Nutrients diffuse into the blood in the small intestine, water in large intestine
• What isn't absorbed becomes feces.

• Carbs: Starches are chains of sugars
• Proteins are chains of amino acids
• Fats are chains of fatty acids
• These smaller units more easily diffuse into the blood stream

• Iodine engineer-gets and uses iodine
• Water handler-gets and pours water
• Starch administrator-gets bucket, adds starch, stirs
• Filtration specialist-gets test tube rack, folds filter paper and places in funnel
