FOOD AND MEALS

  • Upper class ate:

DRINKS

  • Calda-warm water & wine lace with spices / winter drink.
  • Muslum-honeyed wine.
  • Posca-vinegar mixed with enough water to make it drinkable / typically a soldier or slave drink.
  • Wine-watered down / the Romans never drunk wine straight.

HOW DID ROME GET ITS NAME

  • There were 2 boys called Romulus and Remus their uncle took them away from their mother and threw them in a river the floated to sore and when they did there was a female wolf that took care of them then a man took car of them and when the boys were older Mars ( the mans name who took care of them) decides to make a city where the wolf took care of them till
  • Romulus killed Remus and then ruled Rome.

HOW WAS ROME RULED AND WHO RULED ROME

  • In 509bc the Romans killed their last king Tarquin the proud after that Rome became a republic it was then ruled by Senate. Rich me called senators ran the government.

WHAT DID THEY DO FOR LEASURE?

  • Swimming, it was mainly done by boys and built strength.
  • Horseback riding, all the boys needed to know how to ride horses because it would help in battle.
  • Wrestling & Boxing, was for balls it was popular it would build strength and stamina.
  • Running, was popular it was done by boys and they would complete activities and races together.
  • Hunting & Fishing, was done by boys they would be accompanied by their father.
  • Ball games, boys would do handball, soccer, field hockey, catch games and even dodgeball and sometimes girls would be able to join in if they were lucky.
