The climate here is continetal.
This means that there are very hot and humid summers.
There are also freezing winters.
The warm summers attract at least one million tourists a year.

The island lies in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
There are low cliffs that lie along the eastern and southern coasts.
Most of the land on this island is gently rolling plains.
