LEADERSHIP ROLES

  • Lead of student teaching program: to work in a clinical lab, one needs to have internships so that they can be board certified, like other medical professionals. I lead the largest clinical microbiology internship in the state of Minnesota, where we take 6 students at a time 9 months out of the year, and teach them the fundamental skills and knowledge to work in a clinical laboratory.

LEADERSHIP ROLES

  • Lead parasitologist: main duties include training new employees in parasitology testing methods and identification, maintaining employee yearly competencies, and being a resource for all things human parasites for the health system.

LEADERSHIP ROLES

  • Through these leadership experiences, and a few more, I have found a real passion for teaching clinical microbiology at all levels and the importance of lifelong learning within my profession.

PROFESSIONAL GOALS

  • Teach Clinical Microbiology for an accredited Medical Laboratory Sciences program or
  • Manager of a Clinical Microbiology Laboratory
  • OR both!
