The Salem Witch Trials

My topic was the Salem Witch Trials, what do you know about them?

  • A lot of innocent women died
  • A book was written about it
  • It happened in Salem

I learned that the trials were not driven by superstition, but rather by education and religion. I also learned that witches were hanged, not burned in Salem. Another thing I learned was that, at one point in time, there was an extreme group of Christians that not only took the Bible too seriously, but also called themselves Puritans. The final thing I learned was that the trials happened in the Salem area, not just in Salem.

Advice to future freshman

  • Don’t write the entire paper at once
  • Don’t wait to put all the page numbers in
  • Do ALL the research before starting to write your paper

God’s Grand Story
The Salem Witch Trials were part of the fall. The Puritans turned against each other. They started fighting because they truly believed that the devil had been unleashed upon them and people had made deals with him. They thought that Satan had deluded their own kind. They thought that only a few were victims. What if they were the victims? What if Satan had deluded them all?
