Hāngī
A traditional Maori way of cooking food.

HOW TO MAKE A HĀNGĪ

  • Dig a pit.
  • Then put volcanic rocks in the pit.
  • Make a mountain of wood and light it on fire.
  • Put your baskets of food in the pit.
  • Lay the wet sheets on the baskets.
  • Now lay tarpaulin on the sheets to trap the steam.
  • Then put mud on the tarpaulin.
  • Let the hāngī cook for 2-3 hours with steam.

  • Make sure that Your grapes are clean.
  • Make sure they dry for a long time like 2-3 days.
  • Once dried you can eat them.

HOW TO MAKE FRY BREAD

  • Make a lot of dough.
  • Turn on your frying pan.
  • Get the dough out and mix it into a pancake.
  • Leave it on for a while to cook.
  • Take the fry bread out of the pan and put together another batch of them.
  • Put your favourite toppings on and there You go.
