They are pronouns that refer to ownership!
In other words,
“Who does something belong to?”
Do not place possessive pronouns before the noun.
Possessive pronouns go after the noun or in place of the noun.
The possessive pronouns include “Mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs.”
Possessive pronouns are quite useful when searching for a short answer to a question.
