WW2 saw an influx of cargo.

Islanders saw cargo arrive after a magic ritual (radio use)

When the war, and therefore, the cargo ended, islanders mimicked the GI rituals (building land strips, radio towers, military exercises) in hopes of the cargo returning.

Cargo cults were many, but now only one.
