WHY GOOGLE CLASSROOM?

  • Teachers can create, assign, and collect student work EASILY (QUICK grades)
  • Seamlessly integrate Google Docs, links, and other attachments
  • Creates folders of work automatically in Google Drive that can be shared
  • EFFORTLESSLY email students about assignments (including feedback)
  • Whole class announcements; Assignment grades printed on a spreadsheet

Go to Classroom.Google.com and sign into your Google school account
(Ex: SDanielak@Stu.HarrisonSchools.com; Groupwise/Skyward password)

Click on "Create Class"

Change your classroom image

Enroll your students

Students will log in and type in your class code. This will automatically enroll them into your classmand attach their email for quick communication

Educators can allow access for students to post or to simply comment (I do not personally allow students to post onto the feed, but they can comment on my posted assignments/announcements)

Educators set whether students can view the attachment or EDIT the attachment together!

EDUCATORS CAN EASILY VIEW ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSIONS

COMMUNICATION WITH STUDENTS

ADD GRADES EASILY OR MASS-EMAIL SEVERAL STUDENTS WITH FEEDBACK

Educators have the ability to download one assignment's grades or all assignments' grades onto a spreadsheet with one click

Students will click on the assignment that they would like to complete

When students click on create at the top, Google will give them creation options (Google Document, etc.) and will automatically create a folder in their Drive for it as they work on the assignment

When creating a Google Doc, the student's work will automatically be saved and will not be submitted until they click on the "Turn In" button at the top right

Students can also add attachments easily and click "Turn In" for grading
