GENERAL PEMBERTON

  • Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1814
  • Participated in the US Military Academy
  • Served in the Mexican-American war
  • Was a confederate general during the civil war
  • Was taken prisoner after surrendering at the Siege of Vicksburg but was exchanged with another prisoner
  • Died in Pennsylvania five years after the war in 1881

ALBERTO "BETO" PÉTEZ

  • Was born in 1970 in Columbia
  • At age 14 he had three different jobs involving him in his dancing career
  • Moved to Miami, Florida to for fill his dream and love for dancing
  • After experimenting with his own dance routines to different types of music he created Zumba
  • Zumba was made as a way to work out while dancing through music videos fitness groups today Zumba is a type of dancing style used in many work outs and dance companies

DR. PEMBERTON

  • He was born July 8, 1831, in Knoxville, Crawford County, Georgia
  • He served as a lieutenant colonel of the Confederate Army and was wounded after the Battle of Columbus
  • Therefore Dr.Pemberton used morphine to get rid of his pain.
  • After using similar meds. he created the product Coca-Cola to stop headaches.
  • Because of becoming very poor and ill Dr.Pemberton sold the company
  • At the age of 57 (in August 1888) he was poor, sick, addicted to morphine, and a victim of stomach cancer
