PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The riddle tale of freedom

Told By Virginia Hamilton                              page 157-159

The Riddle Tale of Freedom was about a slave and its owner. The slave and its owner liked to play jokes and make riddles. One day the slave made a bet with the owner. The bet was that if the slave owner brought him a riddle than the owner could not guess the riddle than the slave owner would get its freedom. The slave owner could not guess the riddle, so he got the freedom. The riddle was, "Love I see; Love I stand," " Love I holds in my right hand". The answer was his dog named Love. Its fur was in his right hand, he could see the skin, and he was standing. The slave got what he wanted, his freedom.

THEME

  • Think outside the box
  • He has got a strategy that he knows he is going to win.
  • "Love I see; Love I stand"  "Love I see in my right hand"
  • Why I think it is think outside of the box

I think only one thing about the slave is courageous. The trait is that he is risky. I think he is risky because he is risking his freedom. Now that is very courageous. The trait that I don't think is courageous is being clever/smart. I don't think this trait is courageous because almost anyone can be smart and not take chances.
