ZINEDINE ZIDANE

• Zinedine Yazid Zidane , born 23 June 1972, nicknamed "Zizou", is a retired French footballer and current manager of Real Madrid. He played as an attacking midfielder for France's national team, Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid. His skills with the ball have made him famous around the world. Zidane was named the best European footballer of the past 50 years in the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll and is regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the game.
• Zidane has won titles throughout his career, including two Series A league championships with Juventus and an Intercontinental Cup and a UEFA Super Cup with both Juventus and Real Madrid. His transfer from Juventus to Real Madrid in 2001 set a world record fee - €75 million! His left-foot volleyed goal in the 2002 UEFA Champions League Final is considered to be one of the greatest goals in the competition's history. While playing for France, Zidane won the 1998 FIFA World Cup, scoring twice in the final, and UEFA Euro 2000 where he was named Player of the Tournament. The World Cup win made him a national hero in France, and he received the Légion d'honneur in 1998.

Christophe Lemaitre

• Christophe Lemaitre (born 11 June 1990) is a French sprinter, who specialises in the 100 and 200 metres. He is the current French 100m outdoor and 200m outdoor record holder with a time of 9.92 seconds and 19.80 seconds respectively. He was the first person who is not of African descent to break the 10-second barrier in an officially timed 100m event.

Laure Manaudou

• Laure Manaudou (born 9 October 1986) is a French Olympian (she competed in the 2004 Olympics), World and European champion swimmer. She has held the world record in freestyle events between 200 and 1500 metres. She is the daughter of a French father and a Dutch mother, and she is the older sister of Florent Manaudou who is also an Olympic gold medalist swimmer.
