HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

  • 6000 B.C.
  • Dance achieved a national presence when it joined forces with music and visual arts.
  • The migration of former slaves to the cities of the North following the Civil War implanted dance styles that feed into the Harlem Renaissance, eventually spread across the nation, and remain dominant in both theatrical and social dance today.
  • Jennifer Lopez- She researched on many kinds of music so she could catch the beat. She's also a breathtaking dancer.

REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN THE CAREER

  • You have to be trained in dance
  • Bachelors degree
  • Any dance school; any college
  • You need lots of experience in dance to be a dance major.
  • Becoming a dance teacher, choreographer, work in arts administration for a dance company or theater.
  • Dance skills, flexibility, use your body in different ways without getting tired, a positive personality, you have to have a pretty flexible schedule.
  • More flexible with your body. Another way to express yourself.

JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • They first have to warm-up their muscles. They have to have perseverance and determination, in order to get theirselves an audition. They can't give up on getting an audition. They have to be on a diet. If they aren't on a diet they can trigger serious injuries. They also have to have competition ethics, which means when they compete, they give their absolute best performance.
  • It gives younger dancers more dance instructors which also helps the kids so they aren't doing anything bad.
  • About 5-6 hours. A very positive work area.
  • All hair must be up. Ballet tights and leotard, also ballet shoes. No jewelry.
  • The dance instructor
  • $24.28 per hour, or $50,000 per year.
  • Benefits- it's a combination of physical activity, social interaction, and mental stimulation.

JOB REFLECTION AND OUTLOOK

  • Dance is had. You won't always get what you want. There's a lot you don't know. There's a lot you can't control
  • It could affect the person brain because they are doing so many things at once.
  • Very rare
  • It really hasn't been affected. People just want to express theirselves through dance.
  • I see it getting more kids out of trouble and it's also another way for them to have fun.
  • Any dance studio in the Fraser area.
  • Students who study art learn important skills for employment. * studying art positively affects cognitive development. *dance instruction leads to improved visual spatial skills. * arts in schools encourages more involvement/ less absences

  • Because it would help us better ourselves and it's also a fun way to workout and lose weight
  • Yes, because I've always wanted to be a dancer and I also enjoy doing it so I would love to pursue my career
