Back in February, we reported on the thousands of bid requests for HVAC services, equipment, and materials. The plumbing industry is comparably busy, due to the additional thousands of bid requests for plumbing-related services, equipment, and material. As a matter of fact, in the past twelve months, we identified 4,128 pertinent bid requests. While the plumbing industry is a $50+ billion market worldwide, we confined this study exclusively to U.S. and Canadian government purchases.

The bids originated from throughout the United States and Canada, from municipal governments to federal. There is no sign that this industry will be slowing down. For example, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the "employment of plumbers, pipefitters, and steamfitters is projected to grow 12 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations." Over the past 365 days, we noted March 2016 with the most applicable, one-month bid requests: 488. Clearly, government purchasing activity will continue to have a hand in this growth...as always.
