Tell me more about the ELA tests.

  • Read two stories
  • Answer multiple choice questions (vocab / reading comprehension)
  • Write an essay based on the texts read
  • 60-90 minute time limit

...and the math tests...

  • Multi-step problems
  • Use your scratch paper when you need to work out a problem
  • 70-80 minute time limit

THERE WILL BE A TIMER.

  • Read each text carefully.
  • Use the text to answer the questions.
  • If you get stuck on a question, make your best guess and move on. Come back at the end if there is extra time.
  • When you see there are 30 minutes left: STOP working on the questions and begin your essay.
  • When the timer stops. You Stop.

But what if I have a question?

  • The only thing your teacher can do is repeat the directions.
  • They cannot answer questions or offer help even if they really want to. It's the Law.

What if I...

  • Talk during testing? SEND OUT & VOID TEST
  • Get out of my seat? SEND OUT & VOID TEST
  • Look at another scholars' test? SEND OUT & VOID TEST
  • Go ahead or back to another test? SEND OUT & VOID TEST

But most importantly...
Don't stress.
You've worked hard
for this.
SHOW THEM WHAT YOU KNOW!
