Organism Conservation

By: Ben Costa

Negative Viewpoints

  • Some people think biodiversity is a waste of time.
  • That it's uncertain if we save a species they will remain not endangered.
  • What's the point of saving a animal that's almost extinct.

Positive Viewpoints

  • For future enjoyment
  • If extinct they could affect the food chain
  • We can use them for reseach
  • For making medication
  • We use between 50,000- 70,000 plants for medicine

Theodore Roosevelt

  • Set laws to protect wildlife lands
  • Made Govt. Agents to protect wildlife
  • Founded several National Parks, game preserve, and reservations
  • Protected a total of 230,000,000 acres of land.
  • Known as our Conservational President

past goals for conservation

  • To have certain areas protected.
  • Restore the low population of species
  • Control the invasive species
  • Reduce pollution on a impact on biodiversity
  • At least 10% of world's regions protected

Future goals

  • Raise the benefits of biodiversity
  • Inform Govt.and society on the topic threats
  • build up the planning and management of biodiversity.
  • Improve biodiversity by protecting land and animals

Why we should

  • If there is a disease we can make medicines
  • We rely on them as a food source.
  • Affect the food change that effects the food we eat
  • Can keep other animal population controled.
