FORESHADOWING

  • Foreshadowing is when a movie or book hints at what will happen without verbally saying it.
  • Example- Being nine months pregnant foreshadows a baby is coming.

PLOT

  • The sequence of events in a movie, book, play, or something similar.
  • Example- Exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.

NOVEL

  • A book that is fictitious and portrays some degree of reality.
  • Example- The Outsiders is about a gang of kids that is really in life a bunch of friends.

POINT OF VIEWS

  • Limited- When the author only knows the feelings and emotions of one person.
  • Omniscient- When the author knows the thoughts and feelings of more than one person, if not all.
  • Examples Limited- In the Outsiders the author knew the feelings and thoughts of only Ponyboy. Omniscient- In NCIS the director knows the feelings of everybody, not just Gibbs or McGee.
