Three important moments in American history

The creation of the American flag

• represents America
• made in June 14, 1777
• made of red, white, and blue colors
• Betsy Ross made the USA flag

The creation of Lady Liberty

• the French started building it out of copper in September 1875
• finished on October 28, 1886
• given to us later in 1886
• represents freedom

When Abraham Lincoln ended slavery

• One thing the Northern and Southern states fought about in the Civil War was slavery
• Lincoln gave the Emancipation Proclamation, declaring slaves as free people on January 1,1863
• After the war in 1865, he helped pass the 13th Amendment that outlawed slavery

Three foods that represent American culture

Hotdog

• made of pork and/or beef
• usually add ketchup and or mustard
• usually add a bun made of bread

Pizza

• made of cheese, bread, tomato sauce and/or other toppings
• many people love it
• Invented in italy

Burger

• fletcher davis made the hamburger and invented it
• made of a beef patty on a bun ( you can add your own toppings )
• many Americans like it

• Abner doubleday invented baseball in new york then went on to become a civil war hero
• mostly played in America

Football

• England invented a game called football kicking a ball
• Two colleges played the first American football game in 1869
• many Americans watch it
