When I went to discovery world, it seemed as though a lightbulb went off in my head. It was amazing! There were many aquariums, some big, some small. They had a generator that shocked you when you came near the thing! It even had exhibits where you could press buttons and change stuff and, man, did they do some cool things...
The Les Paul's House of Sound exhibit. It had guitars everywhere, and I mean everywhere! You could use what music producers use to edit the voice or instrument of the song, and I really enjoyed it. They even had stations where you could put on headphones and listen to music from a while ago. Not like Beethoven or anyone like that. There was country music, jazz, and more. It was a really cool exhibit, and I think that you should go there as well. 🎸
Next, we have The Challenge. Now, at first I thought that The Challenge was going to be like a... Challenge. Turns out, I was totally wrong. It was a ship, but not just any old ship. It looked so realistic! First let's talk about the living arrangements. There were two rooms. One had just a bed, and the other had a bed, desk, and a dresser type thing. Then there is the kitchen. It had a stove, and on it was a kettle. There was also a dining table.
Along with the living arrangements there was a below deck (aka a basement). In the below deck there was nothing much, but when you looked, there were two prisoners. It was too dark to get a picture, but there was a bunk bed, a chair, some fake food, and fake drinks. When you got close enough, the prisoner started to talk!
Next is the awesome, virtually reality, H.I.V.E. The H.I.V.E was, yes, a virtual reality room. It was circular, and on the outside there were car mirrors. You had to put on crocks when you went into the H.I.V.E, and when you walked in you had to wear 3D glasses. The guy then had you step forward into an area that had two white walls, and one white floor. You got to choose which reality you wanted, and it was on the floor and walls. Overall this was, by far, my favorite exhibit out of them all.
Last but not least, we have the Distant Mirror. The Distant Mirror doesn't actually have mirrors in it. What it does have is this giant box type thing with glass on it, and three buttons. The first button says,"Now." When you click it, it shows things that have fallen on the ground and what they look like now. The next button says," 100 Years Ago." When you press this button, it does the same, except the items were from 100 years ago. The last button says," 1,000 Years Ago." And I'm sure you can guess what happens then...
Overall, I really enjoyed this field trip. We went there in third grade I believe, and I didn't even have as much fun as I did this time. Sometimes it became a little bit overwhelming, but I'm still glad I went. I recommend going to Discovery World and enjoying the fun things they provided there!
