How to provide for these students emotionally

• Through support systems
• By using Appropriate discipline strategies and approaches
• By establishing long term relationships
• By teaching the hidden rules
• By identifying options
• By increasing individuals achievement level through appropriate instruction
• By teacheing goal setting.

How do we use this to help:

• scheduling make sure these students are comfortable with their teachers.
• Teachers and leaders as role models

Discipline

• Students from poverty need to have two sets of behaviors
• The purpose of discipline should be to change the behavior
• Structure and choice need to be a part of the discipline approach

Creating relationships:

• locate a resiliant kid and you will also find a caring adult or several who has guided him- invincible kids, Us news and world report.

Creating Relationships

• For students and adults from poverty, the primary motivation for thier success will be in thier relationships
• As teachers we have to find ways to connect to this students
• Deposits/Withdraws make sure students are respected.
