PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ACIDS AND BASES

Protons are positive charged and electrons are negative charged.

ACIDS

  • There is a PH value and if the value is smaller than 7 that means that object is acid.
  • It tastes sour.
  • They have more protons than bases.
  • They are more positive charged.

BASES

  • When the PH value that is bigger than 7 that is bases.
  • Felt slippery.
  • They are more negative charged.
  • They have less protons than acids.

QUESTIONS OF THE DAY

  • What is the ph scale for water?

THE ANSWER

  • 7
  • Because the water is neutral.

THE TOOL THAT WE CAN USE FOR MEASURING THE PH VALUE OF A SOLUTION

  • The PH paper.
  • That is like a strip of paper that can change colors when we dip the paper in the solution, then we can know is that solution acids or bases.

DIFFERENT COLORS MEANS DIFFERENT

  • Red means the solution is strong acid.
  • Orange means it is weak acid.
  • Green is neutral.
  • Blue is weak base.
  • Purple is strong bases.

THE QUESTION

  • Is that solution acids or bases if we add two solutions together.(one of the solutions' PH value is 9 and another one is 3.)
