WHO CREATED BASKETBALL
- James Naismith created basketball in 1891.
- He was born in November 6th in Almonte Canada1861 and became a sports coach.
- He also designed the very first football helmet.
MORE ABOUT JAMES NAITHSMITH
- Until 1906 the baskets had no hole under them, so that meant they had to climb ladders to get the ball
- When James realised it would be a lot faster to cut out a hole from the bottom so he removed the bottom from the baskets in 1906.
James Naithsmith created basketball because everyone needed to play a indoor sport in the winter because it is too cold for baseball or football.
