AMENDMENT 19

• Ratified: August 18, 1920
• This amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote.
• For years women were marching, writing, and petitioning trying to make their voice mean something.
• Finally, people started supporting their goal of making it an amendment in the Constitution.
• Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify the amendment, achieving approval from 3/4 of the states.
