I created this haiku deck for a social media class at wood river middle school. the assignment required us to find an article about social media from Newsela and create an online presentation a using haiku deck. The article I choose to present was "Fake Instagram accounts make some young people feel free". In my opinion I think this article was well made and it was very interesting to find out about how social media can help others.

The article, "Fake Instagram accounts make some young people feel free", from the Indiana Daily Student, is focusing on Chloe O'Connor experience going incognito. She uses Instagram to express how she feels. Having 2 accounts, one set up to resentment her true identity and another anonymous account for her to express herself with out publicly exposing her identity.

This article is talking about how Chloe experiences on expressing herself on her fake Instagram account and how she only shares her account to people she trusts. She wants to be supported when she posts/ shares her honest things. This way Chloe can reach out to others who might have the same issues as her. She could ask people for help when she needs it, this way she can get help from people all over the social media.

Trust

Chloe, who has an incognito account, likes to post and share about her life. Only letting people she can trust see her posts, this makes her feel more supported when she shares honest things. Giving her freedom by using her unknown account as a diary. Even though people can still screenshot it and post it themselves spreading it around the internet, she is still very careful about what she posts.

CONCLUSION

This way by having a fake Instagram account can help people let out their honest feelings and stop worrying about people judging them. Having this advantage can also help people get out of depression or even stress by having someone to talk to. Also people who are isolated can find other communities online, instead of being alone in real life.
