BURKE & WILLS

Burke & Wills sailed for the South Australian Parliament, they were sailing across Australia from south to north. The expedition was lead by Robert Burke.

Burke & Wills were looking for a route across Australia from north to south. Half way through Australia at Cooper’s Creek they found a message they found a message carved on a tree : Dig 3.ft NW. APR. 21 1861.
Burke dug up the buried supplies and a letter showing that the other men had left that very morning!

People thought that there was an island sea inside of Australia but Burke & Wills found a desert.

Burke & Wills explored in 1859 to 1861 . They died in 1861 310 miles away from Cooper’s Creek.
