WHO WAS THE BIGGEST HERO

Alvin York was noticed as the biggest hero of WW1, he killed more than 20 soldiers. In 1919, the United States Government bestowed the Congressional Medal of Honor on Alvin York.

YOUNGEST HERO

Frank Luke is the youngest soldiers but only by 2 months Henry Johnson was right behind him, only 17 when the war started

THE X-MAS TRUCE

HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE INVOLVED

There were more than 100 people included in the truce

HOW DID IT START

The truce started by the Germans singing Christmas carols and the French joined in and sang along and played soccer. (The next day they went right back to killing)

The x-mas truce was on Christmas 1914 including the French and the German

MEDALS

They earned a regimental French Croix de Guerre with Silver Star and Streamer embroidered Meuse-Argonne, and more than 170 Croix de Guerre medals during World War I.

They gained fame in 1914 and throughout the war because of they’re success
